about

Welcome

I am a still life photographer based in Kendal, Cumbria, with a passion for flower and food photography.
Intrigued by pattern, texture and the intricate detail and form of botanical subjects found in nature.
Often we overlook the 'small'. I wish to draw these beautiful structures to the viewer’s eye in which I have found a new appreciation.
I work with a digital SLR camera and shoot with daylight/flash. Able to undertake commissions for food/product photography, feel free to contact me for a chat regarding any future projects you may have.
I also produce Archival Fine Art Prints and Greetings Cards from my garden studio which I exhibit locally with Green Door Artists.

A little more about me...

Over the years I have studied photography first in Birmingham (UCE) 1991-1994 and then London (LCPDT Back Hill) 1995-1996.
I left my studies to work as a photographers assistant covering many photographic genres including architecture, interiors, advertising, studio and location.
During the summer holidays I would assist my father (Graham JR Whistler FBIPP FRPS a retired Advertising and Commercial Photographer) and in my free time be inspired to photograph subjects I'd find in his garden e.g. my image of 'Pear'.
This is where my love of botanical subjects and food began.
I believe food and its presentation is as much of an art form as nature itself - art on a plate!

Enjoy viewing my personal work which I hope will add element of contemporary style/design to your home/office, either as a piece of wall art or on a much deeper subconscious level, where I have tried to capture and convey a feeling or emotion.

Thank you for taking the time to look.

Best wishes,
Clare
